It also helps release hormones and shrinks the uterus back to its normal size, aiding the process of losing weight.

The only downside about breastfeeding for weight loss is that it can’t be relied on entirely if you want to get back to your old shape. Sure, it can help you shed some pounds, but this doesn’t mean that it’s all that you should do to lose weight. You will still have to monitor your diet, especially since you will still be supplying nutrients to yourself and your baby while breastfeeding. Being careless about what you put in your body will not aid or boost the weight loss process. You also can’t skimp out on your food intake because that wouldn’t be healthy either. So nix any crash diets, fasting or any other lose weight fast plans.

Aside from a healthy diet, to ensure weight loss after pregnancy, you will need to get physical. Exercise has always been an effective means to burn calories and lose some weight. This is why you will have to actually work to get your old body back.

To make things easier, though, you can always get in a weight loss program that is specially designed for new moms. This is what most celebrities actually do to get back to shape in just a couple of weeks. The process can vary from one program to another, so looking for something that you can actually work with is highly important.

Whichever avenue you plan to go with - the most important thing to remember is that your baby will be feeding off of the nutrients you provide for him.
