About half the brain and eyes are made up of fat. Much of this fat is DHA, which stands for docosahexaenoic acid. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid and is considered a healthy fat. Many experts agree that starting to supplement with DHA during the first few years of life can be very beneficial to brain development, along with vision and mental focus.
