Easy Ways to Increase Your Heart Rate Through the Day

The heart rate refers to the number of times your heart beats per minute. As the heart pumps blood into the veins and arteries throughout the body, you’ll feel a pulsing in the blood vessels that are close to the surface of the skin. These include the wrist, neck and upper arm. Counting the rate of your pulse is an effective way to learn how fast your heart rate is. You may check your own pulse rate by counting the number of beats in 20 seconds then multiply it by three so you know how many beats there are per minute.
The heart rate is fast when you’re exercising, when you have an ailment or when you're under stress. It's slow when you're at rest. Having an increased heart rate may be good if it’s a result of physical activity. This ensures that your heart is working hard enough to have a healthy effect on the body. But it should not work too hard as this will have negative repercussions. It would be a good idea to wear a heart rate monitor while you exercise so you’ll know right away if your physical activity increases your heart rate.
Throughout the day, you can keep your heart rate up by engaging in physical activities. Remember, this is good for you as it improves blood circulation in the body so that all the body organs can get the sufficient amount of blood they need to function properly. There are lots of things that you can do to squeeze exercise into your daily life. Even if you’re too busy with office work and home chores, these practical suggestions are not difficult to follow.
Get Up, Stand Up
When you get up in the morning, don’t head straight to the bathroom to shower. Get up a few minutes earlier so you can do a few stretches and perhaps, even jog in place. Just ten minutes of this is enough to increase your heart rate. There are all sorts of exercises that you can do inside your bedroom in the morning—jumping jacks, sit ups, crunches and so on. Just don’t forget to do the warm-up exercise first so you don’t get dizzy suddenly jumping like crazy the second you get up from sleeping.
Tiptoe While You Wash or Brush
While washing your face or brushing your teeth, slowly lift yourself up to stand on your toes. This can also be done while you’re making your sandwich or pouring milk into your cereal. These are easy and won't get in the way of your other tasks.
Park Your Car Far Away
Going to work on foot may be ideal but it may not be suitable for you especially if your office is really far away. It may take you hours before you can get there and your boss would certainly not be happy about that. What you should do instead is to always choose a parking spot that’s farther from your building. This way, you’ll be forced to walk all the way to your office. Make sure that you have plenty of time to do this so you're not late. Brisk walking doesn’t only increase your heart rate but also burn calories.
Ditch the Elevator
When was the last time you used the stairs? Ages ago? It should definitely make a comeback in your life. Stairs are a good way to burn calories and at the same time, keep the heart rate up. You don’t necessarily have to climb all the way up to the 100th floor, you just have to climb a couple of floors to get to your destination, as you can use all the exercise that you can.
Make Time for Face Time
Instead of messaging or emailing your officemate or boss for a question that you have about work, get up and walk over to them. Don’t let technology turn you into a person with no time for face time. If they look at you strangely, just explain why you're not following normal procedure. You may get an answer quicker and in better detail than you would otherwise. Just be courteous if they're busy!
Have a Daily Romp
Getting intimate with your lover at night would surely keep your heart rate up. Whether it’s just a simple make out session or an all-nighter sex, your heart rate will be up and running, providing you with healthy benefits that you surely need. If you do decide to make this a daily activity, see to it that you practice variety so you and your partner don’t get bored. Don't forget about massages or dancing either.
