Children's Expectorant from Naturade can be consumed in children as all ages after a consultation from a doctor.
Warnings: In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Do not give this product for persistent or chronic coughs, such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema, or where cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm, unless directed by a physician. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a physician. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health care professional before using this product.

Recommended Use: For children 6 to 12 years: 1 tablespoonful every 4 hours Children 2 to 6 years of age: one teaspoon every 4 hours. Do not exceed 4 doses in a 24-hour period. For children under 2 years of age, consult a doctor.

I purchased Naturade Children's Expectorant for my son at the onset of chest congestion. Not only did it help get rid of the phlegm and cough, it was kind to his kiddie palate. Not bad for adults either - when I ran out of my expectorant this worked as a fine alternitave.
