For this week's installment of "My Favorite Workout," we're exploring a more ancient form of exercise that remains one of the most popular to this day -- yoga. I sat down with a member of the eVitamins team to learn all about her love for yoga and how it supports her healthy lifestyle.
Just forget about this one.

4. What is your favorite form of exercise?
5. How long have you been practicing this form of exercise? How did you get into it?
I've been doing different types of yoga -- hatha, ashtanga, bikram and finally vinyasa -- on and off for about 10 years. For the past five years, I've been practicing yoga regularly because I can see that It works not only on my body but, what's more important, I can really feel the mental benefits from this practice. It's probably the best stress-relief tool I know.
6. What do you like best about this workout?
[Yoga] keeps my energy level up and reduces stress. I'm totally a better person while on my workout schedule. Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement" and its strength in diversity. There is no single philosophy, rule book or sequence that teachers must follow. I like the fact you're allowed to express yourself. Poses at first look not that complicated, but as you move, breathe and sweat (a lot) your body and mind fuse together and take you to an absolutely different level. Then, it's all up to you how your flow will progress. You can find yourself in a handstand at one point even though barely 20 minutes ago you were walking into class.
7. How often do you train?
It depends on how much time I have. Three to five times a week. My goal is five times a week.
8. Explain your diet and how it helps you work toward your fitness goals and maintain your results.
I try to eat sensibly and avoid processed foods, sweets and carbonated drinks. Since I don't eat a lot of meat, I supplement my diet with 2 scoops of whey protein on a daily basis (50 g). I drink about 2 cups of coffee daily, go easy on fruits (because that's another form of sugar, as you know), try to eat salads for lunch and I choose spelt bread and eat bulk amounts of almonds and peanut butter. I don't eat after 7:30 to 8 p.m. -- no snacking.
Regarding the relationship between your diet and you fitness goals . . . it's very easy, in my opinion. Just remember what the ancient said: You are what you eat. It really works! You can spend endless hours at the gym knocking yourself out with or without weights wondering why you can't loose those 10, 20, 30 or more pounds while still indulging yourself on pre-workout drinks and heading to a buffet for your post-workout meal. Drink a lot of water. Eat more organic.
9. What supplements do you use on a regular basis?
BSN Syntha-6, Chocolate Milkshake flavor
HIT Supplements Igniter Extreme Women Only Pre-Workout Powder, Pina Colada flavor
Vitamin B complex
Omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9
Garden of Life RAW Probiotics Women
10. Any tips for success for someone interested in trying this workout?
I am a big yoga fan. My favorite [styles] are bikram and vinyasa -- power yoga in hot room that increases muscle strength, endurance and flexibility and reduces stress. For me, it"s a journey that changes not only the body, but the mind as well and creates harmony between the inside and the outside. Go challenge yourself. Discover something new and interesting. Break your routine.
