Maca root (Lepidium meyenii [Latin]) is native to the mountain regions of Peru, where it has had a reputation as a powerful sex-enhancer since the times of the ancient Incas. Maca has been called Peruvian Viagara® and Peruvian ginseng because of its legendary ability to promote mental and physical vitality and increase libido in both men and women. Maca is often referred to as a natural hormone balancer, an adaptagen that can treat symptoms of menopause and sexual dysfunction in both men and women. Maca root may also help treat other conditions associated with hormone imbalance, such as depression, insomnia, fatigue, and acne.
Maca root actually provides the body with many healthful nutrients, including potassium and calcium (it actually has higher levels of calcium than milk). Athletes sometimes use maca to boost energy and stamina, and there are reports that this root can increase mental function as well.

I am in menopause now. For the last year, I have had bad night and day sweats, and hot flashes. My sex drive all but diminished.
I have tried, estrogen replacement, for 2 months, but this can cause cancer, so I quit. Then I tried 3 to 4 different herbal products from GNC. One worked somewhat on the hot flashes, but nothing increased my sex drive. The employee, told me to get this product, Maca. That it is good for menopausal symptoms, and increases sex drive. It works so well, men buy it and they sell it in the men's section. I bought it a week ago.
It really does increase your sex drive tremendously!! It has also increased my energy, and helped the hot flashes.
I will continue to buy it.
