Product Description
The practice of drinking Green Tea (Camellia sinensis)was brought to Japan by monks returning from their studies at the great Zen monostaries of 12th century China. For them, tea functioned as an aid to meditation, as a health aid, and as a tool to propagate Zen. As the years went by, tea and the reason for drinking it changed, but it never went out of fashion. Today, Green Tea is one of the three major non-acloholic beverages in the world. Green Tea is a typical non-fermented tea that is enjoyed by many and is immensley popular in Japan. It is utilzed as both a daily beverage and as a healthful drink. Green Tea contains a rich natural source of polyphenols and bioflavonoids. Recent studies have identified the valuable active constituents of Green Tea and continue to review its historical uses.

Ingredients: Chinese green tea leaves.

Recommended Use: The best way to make a good tasting cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes and remove the bag. Press the bag before removing to enhance flavor. Add honey to sweeten.

WARNINGS: Keep out of the reach of children.

NOTES: This tea is caffeine free.

I don't like Green Tea. Any Green Tea. Then why am I writing this review? My son loves it. And he is very particular about what he consumes. I find Green Tea in general too weak, with little flavor. My son likes that Green Tea, particularly this Green Tea, is NOT overpowering and strong. It is easy on his sensitive stomach, and has a pleasing taste. He also likes the fat that it is caffeine free. He likes his tea both hot and iced. Sweetened lightly with a small amount of honey, not sugar or any other sugar substitute. My son has very discriminating taste. And if he really likes something it MUST be good. Better than good, exceptional. Not to mention the fact that there are numerous health benefits to consuming Green Tea. And it actually does help you lose weight. Especially if you are drinking Green Tea instead of drinks high in sugar content with absolutely no health benefits whatsoever.

 Where is Green Tea grown?

All teas (green, black, and oolong) are derived from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The difference is in how the plucked leaves are prepared. Green tea, unlike black and oolong tea, is not fermented, so the active constituents remain unaltered in the herb. The leaves of the tea plant are used both as a social and a medicinal beverage.
