Product Description
Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis) contains catechin polyphenols which possess powerful antioxidant, anti-cancer and anti-platelet aggregation properties along with collagen stabilization and hepatic support. Green Tea may be used for the treatment or prevention of certain cancers; of the gastro intestinal tract, stomach, small intestine, pancreas, colon, lung, and estrogen related cancers. Also may be useful for arteriosclerosis.

Recommended Use: The best way to make a good tasting cup of tea is by the infusion method. Place one tea bag in a cup and add no more than 6 oz. of boiling water. Let steep for 3 minutes and remove the bag. Press the bag before removing to enhance flavor. Add honey to taste.

WARNINGS: Contains Caffeine.

NOTES: The practice of drinking Green Tea (Camellia sinensis) was brought to Japan by monks returning from their studies at the great Zen monasteries of 12th century China. For them, tea functioned as an aid to meditation, as a health aid, and as a tool to propagate Zen.

As the years went by, tea and the reason for drinking it changed, but it never went out of fashion. Today, Green Tea is one of the three major non-alcoholic beverages in the world. Green Tea is a typical non-fermented tea that is enjoyed by many and is immensely popular in Japan. It is utilized as both a daily beverage and as a healthful drink.

Green Tea is a rich natural source of polyphenols and bioflavonoids. Recent studies have identified the valuable active constituents of Green Tea and continue to review its historical uses.

 Where is Green Tea grown?

All teas (green, black, and oolong) are derived from the same plant, Camellia sinensis. The difference is in how the plucked leaves are prepared. Green tea, unlike black and oolong tea, is not fermented, so the active constituents remain unaltered in the herb. The leaves of the tea plant are used both as a social and a medicinal beverage.
