Medication: Diovan - - Stay Far Away
Medication Type: Brand Name
Length Taken: Less than 1 month
Strength: 80 mg X 1 times per day
Side Effects: Dizziness, Dry Mouth, Loss of Sex Drive
Other Products Taken: Atenolol
Valsartan is one of many horrible drugs to take. After reading the reactions, and the problems if you take potassium supplements, I have decided this is not the medication for me, contrary to what my cardiologist says. I find it incredible that this site says there are no vitamin interaction problems with this drug, when the information I have located states to the contrary. As for me, I'm going back to my standby, Lisinopril, which is not as bad. Curiously, my blood pressure is already lowered through my efforts of dietary changes and exercise, yet this know-it-all physician stated that once I lost weight and exercised, he would cease the medications. After losing 75 lbs and eating sensibly, he recants and proves his statements were merely lip service. My heart trouble? Idiopathic atrial fibrillation. Translation: happened only once two years ago, cause unknown.
