Oxycodone Interactions with Foods and Other Compounds

Food
may cause gastrointestinal (GI) upset. -containing products may be taken with food to reduce or prevent GI upset.¹ A common side effect of narcotic analgesics is constipation.² Increasing dietary fiber (especially vegetables and whole-grain foods) and water intake can ease constipation.

Alcohol
may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Alcohol may intensify these effects and increase the risk of accidental injury.³ To prevent problems, people taking oxycodone should avoid alcohol.

I was prescribed Oxycontin for failed cervical fusion surgery. My pain was controlled by the oxycontin. But this drug is very, very difficult to discontinue taking. It is very addictive and the withdrawals are probably comparable to death. I cannot find a detox facility that will detox me medically like I would like and the cost is fifteen thousand dollars for one week of care. Now before using this drug be forwarned it is really for cancer patients, people who have no hope of survival. It will drag you down and never give you hope. I have had mild hepatitis c for some years, my latest biopsy says are in the final stages with fibrosis, thats just before cirrhosis, my pain management doctor told me oxycontin would not hurt me, he lied...its killing me. Because of L1, L2 nerve root damage I've been on this drug for 6 years now. I am reducing my dose to 10 mg, but it's very difficult.

Other Products Taken: Chemo for Multiple Myeloma

I had Hepatitis C and started the Chemo for that illness back in 2002. That chemo caused extreem sinus headakes so I started out using Vicodan to control the pain of the sinus headakes. Shortly after that I developed Multiple Myeloma and I was having lower back pain. My dosage slowly increased over time taking up to (4) 15 Mg Oxycodones.
